Project Eos

Eos 1 Patch

Immersive term Atmospheric Science and Engineering course

As part of The Bay School's immersive program, "atmospheric science and engineering" students take a three-week course in which they refine their understanding of Earth's atmosphere experimentally, building and releasing weather balloon payloads to record data about different characteristics of the atmosphere. Eos I consisted of a fleet of three weather balloons that flew from the Bay Area to the Central Valley on the morning of June 7, 2019. The Eos II balloons took flight on June 2, 2021 over the Central Valley.

The Eos III mission took place on June 8, 2022 and Eos IV flew on June 8, 2023

On flight days, you can track their locations on aprs.fi.

More details to come!
